Feeling Medieval

Ah, middle age! The mixtape of life where Side B starts playing, and you finally realize it’s got the better songs.
It’s equal parts liberation and “what did I come into this room for?” There’s a weird clarity that shows up around the edges of the aches and laugh lines. You care less about impressing people and more about alignment, more about what feels true, and what feels worth your time. (A general shortage of f****s to give, actually.)
There’s loss, sure, of many things, of illusions, stamina, maybe the cartilage in your knees, but there’s also gain: perspective, self-acceptance, and a kind of low-key badassery that comes from having seen some things and still choosing to show up.
So how’s middle age treating you? Or are you just peeking through the door, wondering what kind of snacks we’ve got?
