Spock is the eldest son of Arnar who is a daughter of Mama Dex. Arnar got pregnant just right before we were going to have her spayed (and until now we have no idea who the father is).

Spock's ailments did not manifest until he was about a year old. Currently he is on a regular dose of antibiotics and steroids to manage his symptoms. At its worst, he is unable to eat, his mouth salivating with inflamed gums, and his nose an endless flow of mucus that would harden into a crust so we need to constantly clean his face.

His weight plays along the range of 2.2kg to 2.5 kg. His best form was when he wa being treated for FIP. All his symptoms were gone and he reached 3.2kg. But after the FIP was the FIV.

Spock is a fighter. In October 2025 he had to be hospitalized and everyone, including his doctors, thought he would die. He vomited a alot of blood. But then he survived, and he is back home with us being sweet and funny and fighting with his sibling for food.

Spock's maintenance is expensive. Every 2 months he gets the steroid shot which is around Php2.5k. When combined with the injectable antibiotics the total ramps up to Php5k, including doctor's fees.

His antibiotics, when given orally, is at Php499 per bottle per phase.

His recent hospitalization when he almost died cost Php20k+++.

He can no longer be neutered nor could he undergo a much-needed dental surgery to extract his teeth because his FIV puts him at high risk and he might never wake up from the anesthesia.

So all we can do is give him the best quality of life feasible and to let him feel everyday that he is loved.
